What’s in a Waterfall?

Waterfalls are everywhere and they give a certain place a name and huge potential for tourism revenue. All what’s in there is just a huge body of water flowing rapidly, dropping in elevation as it goes and flows over a steep cliff or area of land. I am featuring in my blog photos contributed by a friend about one beautiful water falls she recently enjoyed to see. For sure I would love to see this spectacular place  too  in the near future. For those of you who want to go deeper into Philippine territory, you might want to feel and experience  the beauty of Tinuy-an Falls, one of the best, if not the best, but lesser known waterfalls of the country – located  in Brgy. Burboanan, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.That’s in Mindanao, Philippines. Bislig is 158 kms south of Butuan and 152 kms south of Tandag City – the capital of Surigao del Sur, whereas  its  208 kilometers northeast of Davao City. What’s more, the falls are 95 m wide and 55 metres (180 ft) high, touted as the Niagara Falls of the Philippines. Tinuy-an is a white water curtain that flows in three levels and is said to be the widest waterfall in the Philippines. Take note, every morning, the area shows a rainbow between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Tinuy-an Falls earned the monicker "Niagara of the Philippine Islands"
